Spine pieces have to be straight, symmetrical where they need to be and organic where they do not, all on a surface that moves every time the client breathes. The lilies are stacked so each bloom opens in a different direction and the stems and leaves carry the line between them.
Fine-line work of this size is drawn with single, even strokes and very light shading, which keeps the piece delicate now and clean as it ages. Placement along the spine is one of the most requested floral placements at the studio.
