Biomechanical sleeve

A biomechanical sleeve built over four sessions: pistons, plates and cabling under torn skin, running from the shoulder down the arm, with the inner arm and chest still to come.

Biomechanical work is all about depth: the machinery has to look as if it sits below the skin, so the edges of the ‘openings’ are shaded darkest and the metal inside is lit from a single direction. Getting that right over a curved arm means planning every plate around the muscle beneath it.

The first photograph is session two of four, with the outer arm shaded and the inner arm and chest section still to be worked. The second shows the first session as it began. Large pieces like this are quoted and scheduled at the consultation, session by session.
