Anime and character tattoos are one of the most requested pieces at Soulraven Studios: Demon Slayer, Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, Studio Ghibli, cartoons and game characters, in black and grey or full colour. Characters are redrawn to fit the placement, and fans often build them into a sleeve one character at a time.
A large part of the studio’s recent work is anime and character tattooing, and it shows in the portfolio: Nezuko and Akaza from Demon Slayer, Vegeta, Goku and Frieza from Dragon Ball, Luffy and the Straw Hat crew from One Piece, Pain and the Naruto symbols, Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen, the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro, Wednesday Addams and more. The studio shares a plaza with Ravenz Realm, the anime and gaming lounge next door, so the culture runs deep here.
Character work is judged on likeness and line quality: the eyes, the hair, the pose and the energy of the source panel have to survive being redrawn for a curved arm or calf. Bring the exact reference frame or manga panel you want; the studio adapts it to the placement rather than tracing a flat image onto a round limb.
Colour or black and grey both work. Saturated colour suits the bold cel-shaded look of anime; black and grey with a single accent colour, such as a red Sharingan or a Straw Hat flag, keeps it subtle and ages well in the sun. Many clients start with one character and add to it over time, which is how several of the sleeves in the portfolio were built.
Consultations for custom, large and cover-up work are J$2,000, in the studio. A 50% deposit secures your date.

Are anime tattoos done in colour?
Both. Full colour, black and grey, or black and grey with one accent colour. The studio will advise which will show best on your skin tone.
